Roller hockey

Roller hockey is one of the two traditional sports of the RSC and has been practiced without interruption since the club was founded. The first team celebrated its greatest successes at the end of the 1980s.

In 1988 they became German roller hockey champions and in 1989 German cup winners.

At the RSC Darmstadt, roller hockey is practiced in all age groups. The club is currently the only one in southern Germany that has registered a team in the youngest age group, the D-youth (U-9), for regular play.

Figure skating

The second traditional sport that has been practiced at the RSC since it was founded is figure skating.

groups

The roller figure skating department of the club consists of three groups:

  • Performance group
  • Popular sports group

In the 2007/08 to 2010/11 seasons, the RSC had an ice hockey department whose senior team played in the Regionalliga Hessen from 2007 to 2009 . After the reorganization of the leagues in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia, she played in the Hesse League in 2009/10 and rose to the Regionalliga West in the 2010/11 season . At the general meeting of the RSC in 2011, the ice hockey department was unanimously outsourced to the newly founded club ESC Darmstadt (Dukes) , which was recognized as the universal successor by the LEV North Rhine-Westphalia.

Inline hockey

The inline hockey department was temporarily represented by two teams:

  • a performance-oriented team that played in the IHD
  • a leisure team that played in a purely hobby league

In 2012, the department was dissolved due to a lack of players.

Popular sport

The popular sports area includes a gymnastics and hiking group.

Venues

The RSC Darmstadt has its own roller skating rink at the Orpheum. Next to this open-air run is a multi-purpose hall that is used together with BC Darmstadt. The national league games of the men's roller hockey team are played in the state performance center of the Hessian Roller Sport and Inline Association (HRIV) in Kranichsteinerstraße in Darmstadt.

Darmstadt TSG 1846

In addition to RSC Darmstadt, TSG Darmstadt (Stars) took part in the games of the Hessian Ice Sports Association (HEV) from 1989/90 to 2007/08. In 1989/90 TSG was promoted to the then fifth-class Hessen League and in 2003 to the Regional League , in which it played until 2008. The TSGDS team achieved their greatest success in 2006 with the championship of the fourth-class RL-Hessen. In 2008/09, the ice hockey department of TSG Darmstadt Stars stopped playing.
