It is not far from the intersection of the street “ Ludwig-Mond- Strasse” - “Am Auestadion” / “ Frankfurter Strasse” at the southern end of Menzelstrasse.

history
The Kassel ice rink, designed by Edith and Simon Kimm, was opened on February 19, 1977. Kimm was managing director of Kassel Huskies until 2005, which was still called ESG Kassel when the hall opened.
In 1981 a supraregional meeting of 6,000 trade unionists was held in the building, and in the same year the Federal Garden Show was opened by Hans Eichel with an event in the building.
The building was expanded in 1995/1997 according to plans by the architect Peter Blaschke. The audience capacity increased from 5050 to 6100 spectators. This came to the DEL ascended Kassel Huskies benefit.
A detective novel by the author Rolf Michael from 2017 bears the title Murder in the ice rink: Detective novel from Kassel.
