The Idéal Cinéma - Jacques Tati is a cinema in the town of Aniche in the French department of North . The French actor Jacques Tati is to be honored with the naming . The building opened in 1902 and the first cinema screening took place on September 23, 1905.

This makes the Idéal Cinéma - Jacques Tati the oldest cinema in the world that is still in operation today.

In 1900 the strong Anich glass workers' union decided to build a new headquarters including a theater. It opened on January 26, 1902. As part of the Anicher city fair in September 1905, the first film screening ( Georges Méliès : The Journey to the Moon ) took place in the 600-seat building. In 1936 the cinema was expanded to 850 seats. In 1977 the cinema had to be closed for security reasons. In 1995 it was renovated and reopened under the current name Idéal Cinéma - Jacques Tati . Today it has two halls.
