Ida Bauer , married Sturm (born March 24, 1871 or 1873 in Großkikinda , Kingdom of Hungary , † June 4, 1954 in Hamburg-Altona ) was an Austro-German theater actress .

Life

Bauer, the daughter of a civil servant, stepped onto the stage for the first time as "Preciosa" in Marburg an der Drau , not yet 15 years old, without ever having received lessons . She then came to Hermannstadt (1888), Linz (1889), Graz (1890), the Berlin Theater (1891) and in 1893 the German Volkstheater in Vienna. In Vienna, where she worked for six years, her talent was recognized, which she demonstrated in many achievements in the role of sentimental lovers. In 1898 she was engaged by the Altona Theater . There she was successful in Shakespeare roles and worked there, with a break of several years at the Hoftheater Hannover , in leading roles until 1916.
