Ida K. Laurel

Ida K. Laurel (born Kitaeva, Russian Ида Китаева ; born January 26, 1899 in Chita , Russian Empire ; † January 26, 1980 Los Angeles , California ) was a Russian singer and actress . She was the fifth and last wife of comedian Stan Laurel .

Ida Kitajewa Raphael celebrated great success as a singer with her first husband Raphael. After his death, she went to the United States , where she married the multiple divorced actor Stan Laurel in Yuma , Arizona on May 6, 1946. The marriage lasted until Laurel's death in 1965. In Hollywood she had two small film roles in the comedies Heil the Victorious Hero (1944) and Crazy Wednesday (1947), both directed by Preston Sturges . She was buried next to Stan Laurel in 1980.
