The idee + spiel, Fördergemeinschaft Spielwaren Facheinzelhandels-GmbH & Co.KG is a purchasing, service and marketing cooperation for medium-sized toy retailers. It was founded on October 9, 1977 and is one of the largest associations in the toy industry in Europe . Over 1,000 toy retail stores in Germany , Austria , Belgium and Italy are part of the cooperation. The sales of the member stores represent a market share of around 38 percent of the toy retail trade in Germany.
The support group has designed six marketing lines for the specialist dealers who are affiliated with the association in order to be able to coordinate the marketing services with the different product ranges:
- idee + spiel for toy shops
- EUROTRAIN for model railway specialist shops
- HOBBYTEC for model making specialist shops
- AUTODROM for model car specialist shops
- smARToys for toy shops with very high-quality ranges and educational toys
- McMEDIA for games shops (video and computer games)
