IdeasExpo
The IdeenExpo is a participation and adventure event that takes place every two years for children, adolescents and young adults at the Hanover Exhibition Center . With various workshops and exhibits, it offers more than 395,000 visitors (as of 2019) what it claims to be the "largest classroom in the world".

The free event IdeenExpo aims to inspire young people for science and technology through the presentation of innovative exhibits and technology to try out. The technology event is aimed primarily at young people between 10 and 22 years of age. The IdeenExpo wants to create awareness among young people that they can influence their own future through participation and commitment, according to the motto "Change YOUR ideas". Companies, research institutions, universities and schools from Lower Saxony are taking part in the event. The aim of the event is to counteract the shortage of young talent in the relevant industries. The IdeenExpo is financed by sponsorship contributions from the private sector and funds from the state of Lower Saxony and the European Union .
Ideas Expo 2007
The first IdeenExpo took place from October 6th to 14th, 2007 in Hanover . It was from then Prime Minister Christian Wulff in reference to the Ideas Park from Thyssen-Krupp initiated. Initially, the supervisory board of the IdeenExpo included Dietrich Kröncke as general manager of the employers' association NiedersachsenMetall and Rolf Meyer as the resigned managing director of Sennheiser electronic .
The first IdeenExpo was a technology show with 250 exhibits, workshops, experimental lectures, science shows and panel discussions. 140 exhibitors took part, including companies, research institutions, universities and schools. The event had around 160,000 visitors. It provided insights into the fields of mobility, energy and production, communication, life and the environment, and steel. According to a survey by the organizers, the IdeenExpo made 70 percent of visitors more curious about technology. 96 percent of the exhibitors were satisfied with the response to the IdeenExpo.
IdeenExpo 2009
The second IdeenExpo was held from September 5th to 13th, 2009 and was attended by 283,000 people. In terms of content, the 2009 program consisted of four main pillars: Most of the exhibits could be seen in the Ideas - Hall 9. The Ideas Plaza in front of it was available for very large exhibits. In the center of the pavilion of ideas was the "Vision Future" dome, where visitors received professional information. In addition, a stage program could be seen in which, among other things, different professional fields were presented. Shows and lectures as well as workshops took place in the adjacent convention center. The supporting program included science shows, live experiments and a musical evening program.
IdeenExpo 2011
The third IdeenExpo was held from August 27 to September 4, 2011. Over the nine days of the fair, around 310,000 visitors came to the 80,000 m² exhibition area, which was a visitor record to date. The event was opened by the then Federal President Christian Wulff ; Lower Saxony's Prime Minister David McAllister announced a continuation of the IdeenExpo for 2013.

The fourth IdeenExpo took place from August 24th to September 1st, 2013 on the exhibition grounds in Hanover.
IdeenExpo 2015
The fifth IdeenExpo took place from 4th to 12th July 2015 under the motto "High Five with the future" at the Hanover exhibition center. For the first time, the exhibition grounds included Halls 7, 8 and 9, which in 2015 made an area of over 100,000 m² available. The IdeenExpo 2015 counted around 351,000 visitors.
IdeenExpo 2017
The sixth IdeenExpo took place from June 10th to 18th, 2017 under the motto “Just do it!” At the exhibition center in Hanover. 360,000 visitors came.
IdeenExpo 2019
The seventh IdeenExpo took place from June 15 to 23, 2019 under the motto “Just do it!” At the exhibition center in Hanover. The exhibition area was enlarged by a fourth hall to 120.00 square meters. The number of exhibitors was estimated at 270. The budget amounted to 17.5 million euros, of which the state of Lower Saxony contributed up to 7 million euros. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing in 2019, the IdeenExpo 2019 honored this event. A total of 395,000 people visited the exhibition.
