Idris Barzani
Idris Barzani ( 1944 - January 31, 1987 ; Kurdish ئیدریس بارزانی Idrîs Barzanî ) was a Kurdish politician in Iraq . He was the son of the DPK founder Molla Mustafa Barzani and the father of Nêçîrvan Idrîs Barzanî .
Together with his brother Masud Barzani , the former President of the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan , he took over the leadership of the DPK in Iraq after the death of his father. He had often been on diplomatic trips for the DPK. He died unexpectedly on January 31, 1987 of a heart attack .
He was one of the leading figures of the Barzani tribe . His uncle Ahmed Barzani was the official head, while his father, Mulla Mustafa Barzani, had actually taken the lead. Idris Barzani and his brother married daughters of Ahmed Barzani. Her brother-in-law and cousin led an independent fundamentalist group of the Kurdish Resistance, which was positive towards the DPK.
