The Iduna high-rise (referred to in the development plan as the Erich-Maria-Remarque-Ring high-rise or, after the former street name, the Karlsring high-rise ) is a high-rise in the city ​​center of Osnabrück . It was completed in 1974 and at 65 meters is the tallest residential building in Osnabrück.

The owner was initially Iduna Versicherungs-AG from Hamburg, which is now part of the Signal Iduna Group . When defects arose in the construction, Iduna sold the building to a holding company in 1987.

The high-rise stands on a green area between the Osnabrück Cathedral School , the embankment of the Löhne – Rheine railway line and the Herrenteichswall, a section of the former city wall. The villa of the chemist and industrialist Wilhelm Lepenau , who was the founder of the Salzbergen refinery , used to stand here . According to the development plan, a high-rise was planned on the basis of the urban development objectives of creating new living space in the city center and at the same time largely preserving the green space on the Herrenteichswall.

In the high-rise building, 18 of the 21 floors are used for living; 128 condominium units are housed here. A swimming pool was originally installed on the 19th floor, but it is now closed. Temporary plans to clad the house facade with photovoltaic modules were discarded.
