Iederwijs school

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iederwijs was a Dutch school model , mainly based on the Sudbury model and the educator Kees Boeke .

  • Children have the same rights as adults.
  • Children can learn anything they want as long as the impulse comes from themselves; the providers (ie teachers and other staff) assist them and otherwise leave them largely free.

Unique selling points

Since the Sudbury model does not provide any precise specifications, the differences are naturally fluid. So were at Iederwijs decisions based on the ideas Kees Boekes after him as sociocracy designated Consent procedure met: A decision therefore applies as adopted unanimously , provided there is no objection. In contrast, in most other democratic schools, decisions are made by a simple majority .
