Ignacy Maurycy Judt

Ignacy Maurycy Judt (* 1875 , † December 8, 1923 in Warsaw ) was a Polish radiologist and ethnologist . He is considered a pioneer in radiology.

Life

Judt came from a Jewish family. After graduating from the Second Gymnasium in Warsaw, he successfully studied medicine at the Imperial University until 1899 . After a scientific expedition, Ignacy Marycy Judt became the head of a surgery department and then set up a center for radiology. Judt took part in the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). After returning home, he opened a private radiology studio.

In Germany, the scientist was known through his critical book Die Juden als Rasse: an analysis from the field of anthropology , published in 1903 . The eugenicist Hans FK Günther promoted his fame through numerous mentions of his quotes in his predominantly anti-Semitic works. Ignacy M. Judt is buried in the Warsaw Jewish Cemetery on Okopowa Street .
