Ignas Staškevičius (born May 7, 1970 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian entrepreneur, member of " VP dešimtukas ". He is chairman of the board of directors of “ NDX Energija ”, which owned 38% of the Lithuanian national electricity company Leo LT , and a board member of “ Vilniaus prekyba ”, owned by NDX Energija .

education

Ignas Staškevičius was born into a family of the Vilnius intelligentsia . In 1986 he graduated from the 12th secondary school in Baltupiai and began studying for a degree at the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University , where he specialized in pediatrics in 1994 . Later he also studied 7 semesters at the law faculty , but he did not complete this degree.

activity

In 1992 Ignas Staškevičius started his entrepreneurial activity with some fellow students. Together they built up today's group " Vilniaus prekyba ", of which Staškevičius has been a member since then. In July 2004 he became chairman of the board of “VP Market” (today “ Maxima LT ”), the “Vilniaus prekyba” supermarket chain. From October 2005 he headed the pharmacy chain Eurovaistinė , which has been under the Euroapotheca holding since 2008 due to international expansion . In March 2008, he succeeded Darius Nedzinskas as the new chairman of the board of the holding company “NDX Energija” owned by VP, which holds 38% of the shares in “ Leo LT ”.

In contrast to his colleagues on the board of the "Vilniaus prekyba", as a representative of the private economy and the new generation of entrepreneurs in Lithuania, he often took part in public discussions and international business conferences on economic and public issues. Staškevičius initiated many high-profile actions. During the referendum on Lithuania's accession to the EU (2003), for example, voters who had already cast their votes on election day could buy beer, detergents and other goods for 1 cent in the VP Market supermarkets . He is therefore regarded as the “face and voice” of Vilniaus prekyba .

Journey to the base

Ignas Staškevičius wrote a book "Kelias į bazę", where he described personal impressions of his work. It contains essays, travel stories and texts from his lectures.
