Ignatius dust

Ignatius Staub OSB (born December 19, 1872 in Baar ZG ; † March 29, 1947 in Einsiedeln ) was abbot of the Einsiedeln monastery .

Life

Born as Josef Thomas Staub, he entered the Benedictine Abbey of Maria Einsiedeln in 1892 , where he took on the religious name Ignatius with his profession in 1893 .

He received in the July 16, 1899 Einsiedeln the priesthood . He was elected Abbot of Einsiedeln on December 19, 1923, on December 29 of the same year this election was confirmed and on January 28, 1924 he was ordained abbot by Nuncio Luigi Maglione and introduced into office.
