Igor Bišćan (born May 4, 1978 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian football player.

Career

His career began in 1996 with Samobor, from where he moved to Dinamo Zagreb and won several national championship titles. In the 2000/01 season he moved to Liverpool for an estimated fee of 9.2 million euros , where he played until 2005 and won the UEFA Champions League , among others . From 2005 to 2007 he played at Panathinaikos Athens and then again at Dinamo Zagreb, where he ended his playing career in 2012.

Bišćan is defensively versatile and played 15 times for the Croatian national soccer team before he withdrew from it due to differences of opinion with the association's management.

In 2017 he started his first coaching position at Olimpija Ljubljana.
