Career

Igor Budan started his career in his hometown, at HNK Rijeka . In season 1999/00 he moved for the first time abroad for AC Venice in the Italian Serie A . As a result, Budan changed clubs regularly and played primarily in the Italian Serie B , but he was unable to assert himself anywhere sustainably. He made his breakthrough in the 2003/04 season when he was able to score eleven goals in 23 games for the then Serie B club Atalanta Bergamo and thus ensured that Bergamo rose to Serie A. In the following season he was used frequently, but only scored five times, in the end Atalanta occupied a relegation place and returned to Serie B. After eight games for Bergamo, Budan moved to Ascoli Calcio in the 2005/06 season , returning to Serie A. For the 2006/07 season Budan then moved to FC Parma , where he was able to record 13 goals this season and thus had a significant role in keeping his club. In the 2008/09 season he moved to US Palermo . For the 2010/11 season he was awarded to AC Cesena . In the summer of 2011 he returned to Palermo.
