Iie Sumirat
Iie Sumirat (born November 15, 1950 in Bandung ) is a former Indonesian badminton player .
In 1974 he first drew attention to himself at the All England . There he was able to advance to the final with Christian Hadinata in men's doubles, where they were defeated by their Indonesian compatriots Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi . At the first world championship in badminton in 1977 he won the bronze medal in singles. He lost in the semifinals to the later Danish world champion Flemming Delfs . In 1978 he again won bronze in the men's singles at the Asian Games . A year later he played a major role in Indonesia's victory in the Thomas Cup . In the new millennium he became known as the coach of Taufik Hidayat .
