iiO is a dance - and House - Act of New York , consisting of music producer and songwriter Markus Moser . The former member, singer-songwriter Nadia Ali , left the project in 2005 to pursue a solo career. iiO is best known for its hit single "Rapture".

history

The Duo iiO came into being when the producer Markus Moser was looking for a singer for his productions. Originally the music project was called Vaiio , a derivative of the Sony Vaio laptop on which the duo initially worked. The "Va" prefix was eventually removed to avoid possible legal problems with Sony.

In 2001 the duo had a globally successful hit with "Rapture", which they released as a single in 2002. The single reached number 2 in the UK single charts and number 3 in Australia. After this great success, remixes by numerous DJs such as Armin van Buuren , Deep Dish and Paul van Dyk were released . The follow-up single "At the End" came in at number 20 in the UK charts.

iiO released his debut album Poetica in March 2005 . There were a total of four single releases. None of them reached a position in the general charts. However, "Kiss You" came third on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts , "Is It Love?" even reached number 1.

In 2007 the remix album Reconstruction Time: The Best of iiO Remixed was released , which also includes the single "Rapture 2007". This song came back to number 3 on the Hot Dance Club Play charts .
