Icarian Sea

Icarian Sea ( Greek Ικάριο πέλαγος Ikario pelagos ) is a name for a sea area in the eastern Aegean . Geographically, it is not precisely defined, but roughly includes the waters south of Chios to north of Kos with the islands of Ikaria , Samos and Patmos . The sea was named after Icarus, who, according to legend, fell into the sea there.
