Ikuko Hatoyama ( Japanese 鳩 山 郁 子 , Hatoyama Ikuko ; * 1968 in Chiba Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist .

She published her first comic as a professional illustrator with Moyō no aru Tamago ( も よ う の あ る 卵 ) in the October 1987 issue of the avant-garde manga magazine Garo . For this, she mainly created her experimental short stories in the following years. She has been working for Garo's successor AX since 1998 .

Hatoyama's work consists largely of short stories. One of her few series is Castratura ( カ ス ト ラ チ ュ ラ , Kasutorachura ) about a castrato singer . The author's short stories have appeared in several books; so far she has published nine books in total. In her comics, some of which have homoerotic allusions, the focus is always on boys who use an educated manner of expression. Masano Amano wrote about her drawing technique: "Hatoyama's drawing technique, which thrives on filigree lines and the white of the paper, increases the impression of calm and coolness and convinces the viewer that boys are beautiful creatures."

The manga artist Shizuka Nakano was influenced by her.
