history

Oberamt Horb, territorial status 1813, with the former rule and office boundaries

The Oberamt was established in 1807 and consisted mainly of former Austrian or knightly places that had come under Württemberg sovereignty as a result of the Pressburg Peace and the Rhine Confederation Act . Neighbors of the district, which was part of the Black Forest District from 1818 to 1924, were the Württemberg regional authorities Nagold , Herrenberg , Rottenburg , Freudenstadt and the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, which became Prussian in 1849 .

Lower nobility holdings under Austrian sovereignty were Nordstetten with Isenburg (Freiherr Keller von Schleitheim) and Lützenhardt (Freiherr Rassler von Gamerschwang).
  • Duchy of Württemberg
Hochdorf was part of the old Württemberg office of Nagold.
  • Order of St. John
