Oberamt Vaihingen
The Oberamt Vaihingen was an administrative district in Württemberg (on attached map # 57) , which was renamed District Vaihingen in 1934 and became part of the enlarged Vaihingen district in 1938 . For general comments on the Württemberg upper offices, see Oberamt (Württemberg) .
history
As early as the 14th century, the city of Vaihingen was the capital of a Württemberg bailiwick. The resulting office, from 1758 Oberamt, was incorporated from 1806 onwards, some of the old Württemberg and some of the former knighthood. Neighbors of the district, which was assigned to the Neckar District from 1818 to 1924, were the regional offices of Maulbronn , Brackenheim , Besigheim , Ludwigsburg and Leonberg after the reorganization .
Former gentlemen
In 1813, after the regional reform was completed, the district was made up of parts that had belonged to the following rulers in 1800:
- Duchy of Württemberg
- Oberamt Vaihingen: Vaihingen , Aurich , Ensingen with Kleinglattbach , Enzweihingen , Hohenhaslach , Horrheim , Oberriexingen , Riet , as well as the Württemberg shares in Eberdingen and Nussdorf ;
- Office Großsachsenheim : Groß- und Kleinsachsenheim , Sersheim , Untermberg ;
- Oberamt Gröningen : Wuerttemberg share (25/32) in Unterriexingen ;
- Maulbronn Monastery Office : Iptingen , Roßwag , Weissach ;
- Klosterhofmeisterei Rechentshofen (emerged from the Cistercian convent of Mariäkron, which was closed in the 16th century);
- Chamber registry property : Mühlhausen an der Enz .

Imperial Knighthood
In the knightly canton Neckar-Black Forest the Swabian knighthood were enrolled:- Hochdorf (from Ticino),
- Eberdingen and Nussdorf (each part, Baron von Reischach ),
- Unterriexingen (share 7/32, Baron von Zwierlein ).

Changes in the community since 1813
In 1842 the communities Großglattbach and Iptingen came from the Maulbronn Oberamt to the Vaihingen Oberamt.
In 1894, Kleinglattbach was separated from Ensingen and made an independent municipality.
