Max Hoß

Max (also Maximilian ) Ludwig Hoß (born September 30, 1878 in Ludwigsburg , † September 11, 1966 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) was a German politician .

Life

Born as the son of a major and battalion commander , Hoß studied law in Tübingen , Heidelberg and Leipzig after attending the Ludwigsburg grammar school . During his studies he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity in 1896 and of the Allemannia Heidelberg fraternity in 1898 . After his exams in 1901 and 1903 he was in 1903 in Tuebingen Dr. iur. PhD . In 1903/04 he was a one-year volunteer with the field artillery regiment "King Karl" (1st Württembergisches) No. 13 . After his legal clerkship , he became a government assessor in Stuttgart and in the Berlin Ministry of the Interior. In 1912 he became a bailiff at the Stuttgart city administration and in 1913 in Ulm . He took part in the First World War with the Field Artillery Regiment No. 26, most recently as lieutenant and battery leader. After being wounded, he became captain and battery chief of the 1st battery in the Epp Freikorps in 1918 . After a short time in the Ministry of the Interior, he became a planned assessor and senior magistrate in Ludwigsburg in 1919 , went to the Oberamt Vaihingen as a senior official in 1920 and was also an official administrator in the Oberamt Maulbronn . In 1925 he became senior official or from 1928 district administrator in the upper office of Schorndorf . From 1929 to 1945 he was district administrator in Schwäbisch Gmünd . From 1927 to 1929 he was a member of the German National People's Party (DNVP) and from 1933 of the NSDAP . On July 14, 1945, he was provisionally removed from service and then interned.
