Oberamt Calw

The Oberamt Calw was a württembergischer County (on the attached map # 9) , which in 1934 Calw , 1938 in Calw was renamed and was extended to include most of the communities which thus resolved circles Nagold and Neuenbürg. The city of Calw was the capital of a Württemberg bailiwick as early as the 14th century . The resulting office, from 1758 Oberamt, Calw, to which the Zavelstein office was also subordinate, received a considerable increase in territory from 1806 through parts of the abolished offices in Hirsau, Herrenalb and Wildberg. Neighbors of the district, which was assigned to the Black Forest District from 1818 to 1924, were the Wuerttemberg regional offices of Neuenbürg , Nagold , Leonberg , Böblingen , Herrenberg and the Grand Duchy of Baden .

Former gentlemen

In 1813, after the regional reform was completed, the district was made up exclusively of old Württemberg towns that had belonged to the following offices in 1800:

  • Oberamt Calw: Calw, Aichhalden, Altburg, Dachtel, ceiling Pfronn, Martinsmoos, Möttlingen, Neuweiler with Hofstett and the mountain resorts (Aichelberg, Hünerberg, Meistern), Speßhardt (partially) with Alzenberg, Oberriedt, Weltenschwann and Wimberg, Zwerenberg with Hornberg and Oberweiler ( partially);
    • Amt Zavelstein: Zavelstein, Breitenberg, Emberg, Holzbronn, Oberkollwangen, Rötenbach, Schmieh, Sommenhardt with Kentheim and Lützenhardt, Speßhardt (partially), Teinach, Würzbach with Naislach;
  • Oberamt Altensteig: Zwerenberg with Hornberg and Oberweiler (partially);
  • Wildberg Oberamt: Neubulach, Altbulach, Liebelsberg, Oberhaugstett;
  • Oberamt Böblingen: Ostelsheim;
  • Hirsau monastery office: Hirsau (with Ernstmühl to the left of Nagold), Agenbach, Oberkollbach with Eberspiel, Oberreichenbach, Ottenbronn, Stammheim with the yards of Dicke and Waldeck;
  • Kloster-Herrenalber Amt Merklingen: Gechingen, Old and New Hengstett, Simmozheim.

In 1838 Eberspiel, which was an independent municipality until 1830, then again from 1835, was finally incorporated into Oberkollbach.

In 1842 the communities Dennjächt, Ernstmühl, Liebenzell, Monakam, Unterhaugstett and Unterreichenbach came from Oberamt Neuenbürg to Oberamt Calw. In the same year, Oberweiler was changed from Hornberg to Aichhalden.

In 1850, Aichelberg, Hünerberg and Meisters von Neuweiler separated and together they formed an independent community, which was initially referred to as Bergorte , sometimes with the addition (or Aichelberg) . In 1938 the name was changed to Aichelberg .

In 1914 Dennjächt was incorporated into Unterreichenbach.

In 1920 Ernstmühl was incorporated into Hirsau.

In 1933 Speßhardt and Oberriedt were transferred from Alzenberg to Altburg.

In 1935 Alzenberg was incorporated into Calw.
