Karl v. Doll

Karl Friedrich Ferdinand Doll , from 1894 von Doll , (born September 18, 1834 in Stuttgart , † December 24, 1910 in Cannstatt ) was a German civil servant , poet and collector of sagas .

Life

Doll graduated from high school in Ulm in 1854. From the winter semester of 1855/56 he studied administration at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . Here he joined the student union Landsmannschaft Scotland .

From 1861 to 1870 he worked as a senior actuary in Marbach am Neckar , then until 1872 as an assessor in Reutlingen . From 1872 to 1879 he was senior bailiff in Calw and then moved to Stuttgart, where he worked in the Ministry of the Interior. In 1882 he was promoted to government councilor and senior government councilor, and in 1900 to government director. He was a full member of the board of directors of the building fire insurance company.

Honors

  • 1882: Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Order of Frederick
  • 1894: Honorary Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown awarded, combined with the elevation to the personal nobility status ( ennoblement ).
  • In 1879 a memorial plaque for Doll was placed on a fountain in Friedrichstrasse in Hornberg , which is still hanging there today
