Oberamt Ehingen

The Oberamt Ehingen was a württembergischer County (on the attached map # 11) , the 1934 county Ehingen renamed and 1938, primarily to communities of the dissolved parties Blaubeuren and Riedlingen , for Ehingen district was enlarged. Large parts of the Ehingen area have been under the influence of the Habsburgs since the Middle Ages . Some places, like the city itself, were directly under Austrian sovereignty, others belonged to monastic territories or manors. After Württemberg, hardly present in the region before 1800, with the Peace of Pressburg the Austrian territories had been assigned, Ehingen became the city of the Oberamtsstadt. In 1806, the district received growth in the form of territorial or knightly territories mediated by the Rheinbund act , later parts of the short-lived upper offices of Urspring (1808) and Zwiefalten (1810) were added, as well as some places that had initially come to Bavaria in 1806.

Neighbors of the district assigned to the Danube District from 1818 to 1924 were the upper offices of Blaubeuren , Münsingen , Ulm , Biberach , Wiblingen (later Laupheim) and Riedlingen .

Former gentlemen

In 1813, after the regional reform was completed, the district was made up of parts that had belonged to the following rulers in 1800:

• Vorderösterreich
  The towns of Ehingen and Munderkingen were directly under Austrian sovereignty, with Ehingen being assigned to the Margraviate of Burgau and Munderkingen to the Landvogtei of Swabia . The city of Ehingen also exercised high and low court in Altsteusslingen, Berkach, Dächingen, Dettingen , Heufelden, Nasgenstadt, Mühlen, Schlechtenfeld, Schwörzkirch and Bockighofen . The following also belonged to Upper Austria:
  • to the rule of Berg, given as a fief to Count Schenk von Castell : Berg, Altbierlingen,
  • to the rule of Erbach, given as a fief to Freiherr von Ulm-Erbach: Erbach, Donaurieden,
  • the half of Emerkingen and Unterstadion loaned to Graf von Stadion ,
  • to the Ursprunging monastery : Hausen ob Allmendingen , Blienshofen , Schaiblishausen,
  • to the St. Georgen monastery in Villingen : Herbertshofen with Dintenhofen .
• Duchy of Württemberg
  • Oberamt Steusslingen: Ennahofen , Grötzingen , Sondernach, Weilersteusslingen ;
  • Upper Office Münsingen: Mundingen;
  • Blaubeuren monastery office: Rottenacker.
• Reichsabtei Marchtal : Obermarchtal with the associated hamlets, Kirchbierlingen with Sontheim and Weisel, Algershofen (partially).
• Reichsabbey Zwiefalten : churches, Lauterach, Mochental Castle .
• Imperial Abbey Salem : Frankenhofen, Stetten.
• Imperial Abbey of Söflingen : Pfraunstetten .
• Reichsstift Buchau : Oggelsbeuren , Rupertshofen .
• Imperial City of Ulm
  The city exercised state sovereignty over Ersingen, where the Ulm sister collection was the sole landlord.

  In the knightly canton of Danube, the Swabian knighthood were registered:
  • Lordship of Grundsheim with Willenhofen ( Prince of Thurn and Taxis );
  • Oberdischingen,
  • Brook,
  • Wernau (all Count Schenk von Castell );
  • Alberweiler,
  • Moosbeuren ,
  • Oberstadion with Aigendorf , Hundersingen, Mundeldingen (all Graf von Stadion) ;
  • Allmendingen,
  • Altheim,
  • Öpfingen with Griesingen and Niederhofen (all Freiherr von Freyberg );
  • Granheim,
  • Untermarchtal (both Freiherr von Speth);
  • Gamerschwang (Freiherr von Raßler);
  • Emerkingen and Unterstadion (half each, Freiherr vom Stain zum Rechtenstein );
  • Rechtenstein (ancestral seat of the Barons vom Stain, 3/4 of the rule of the heirs of the line that died out in 1743 came into the possession of the Barons von Freyberg);
  • Rississen (Baron Schenk von Stauffenberg ).

In 1842 the community of Alberweiler was transferred from the Ehingen district to the Biberach district.

In 1933 Algershofen was changed from Untermarchtal to Munderkingen.
