Eduard Quintenz (Chief Bailiff)

Eduard Quintenz (born December 29, 1853 in Ellwangen (Jagst) , † June 18, 1935 ibid) was a Württemberg governor.

Life and work

Eduard Quintenz was the son of a watchmaker. He attended grammar school in Ellwangen from 1863 to 1872 and then studied Catholic theology and from 1877 to 1879 criminal sciences in Tübingen , in 1879 he passed the 1st and in 1880 the 2nd higher service examination. After the first service examination, Quintenz did a trial traineeship at the Oberamt and the government of the Jagstkreis in Ellwangen. Between 1880 and 1881 he held positions as actuarial administrator at the Oberamt Neresheim , as a deputy bailiff at the Oberamt Wangen and as a deputy bailiff at the Oberamt Waldsee . Between 1881 and 1886 he was a bailiff and attorney at the Oberamt Wangen and from 1886 to 1889 at the Oberamt Gmünd . From 1889 to 1892 he worked as a secretary in the Ministry of the Interior in Stuttgart. From 1892 to 1894 he was Oberamtmann in Neresheim and from 1894 to 1919 in Ehingen , since 1907 with the title of Government Councilor. In 1919 he retired.

His son, who was also called Eduard Quintenz , was later district administrator in Oberndorf am Neckar and Tuttlingen .

He was a member of the Catholic student union AV Guestfalia Tübingen .
