Oberamt Neuenbürg
The Oberamt Neuenbürg was an administrative district in western Württemberg (on attached map # 38) , which was renamed in 1934 in the district of Neuenbürg and in 1938 completely in the district of Calw . For general remarks on the Württemberg upper offices, see Oberamt (Württemberg) .
history
As early as the 14th century, the city of Neuenbürg was the capital of a Württemberg bailiwick. In 1442, the independent Wildbad office was spun off from this district, which encompasses the entire upper Enz Valley . The possession of Württemberg in the northern Black Forest was rounded off by the Liebenzell rule in Baden until 1603, which was incorporated into the administrative structure as a whole. It was not until the reorganization carried out from 1806 onwards that the three offices, and from 1758 onwards, the upper offices, came together. While Wildbad and the Herrenalb monastery office came to Neuenbürg as early as 1807/1808, the Liebenzeller villages were initially assigned to the Calw District Office, and finally in 1810 to the Neuenbürg District Office. The district, which was assigned to the Black Forest District from 1818 to 1924, bordered the Württemberg regional offices of Calw and Nagold in the southeast, and the Grand Duchy of Baden on three sides .
