Wilhelm von Bätzner

Wilhelm von Bätzner (born April 21, 1824 in Calw ; † February 12, 1893 in Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg governor and president of the Ministry of the Interior.

Life and work

Wilhelm Bätzner completed a typing training. He then studied criminal sciences from 1842 to 1846 in Tübingen , and in 1847 he passed the first and second higher service exams. Bätzner began his professional career from 1847 to 1851 as an actuary administrator or actuary at the senior offices in Gerabronn and Waiblingen. In 1851 he became an unskilled worker and assessor at the Central Office for Trade and Industry, he was also an extraordinary member of the Central Office for Agriculture and, since 1855, a member of the central management of the charity and the poor commission. From 1857 to 1866 he was senior official at the Neuenbürg Upper Office and from 1866 to 1870 at the Tübingen Upper Office , since 1868 with the title of Government Councilor.

In 1970 Bätzner moved to the Department of the Interior (Ministry of the Interior) as a councilor with a seat and vote in the upper government; At times he was also the head of the Mining Authority. In 1878 he rose to the board of directors of the upper government with the title of vice director and board member of the state stud commission, in 1879 he received the rank of director and in 1881 the title of president. In 1887 he became an extraordinary member of the Privy Council , leaving his official position . From 1888 to 1892 Bätzner was chairman of the state insurance office. In 1892 he applied for his retirement due to asthmatic complaints, but this was not granted. Wilhelm von Bätzner died completely unexpectedly of paralysis , the day before he had been doing his official business in the ministry.

In 1884 Wilhelm von Bätzner was appointed a lifelong member of the First Chamber of the Württemberg Landtag, the Chamber of Class Lords.
