Zemplínske Hradište (until 1948 Slovak "Hardište"; Hungarian Hardicsa ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 1,154 (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Trebišov , a circle of kraj Košický belongs.
geography
The municipality is located in the eastern Slovakian lowlands on the Trnávka river , which flows into the Ondava , at an altitude of 103 m nm. The center is five kilometers south of Trebišov and about 50 kilometers east of Košice .
history
The place was mentioned for the first time in 1328 as Hradischa and belonged to the Trebišov estate. It is believed that the name was derived from a Slavic hill fort. In 1828 there are 154 houses and 1,136 inhabitants.
Until 1948, the district of Hradištská Moľva , which is now part of the Malčice municipality, belonged to the place.
