The Ondava (German rarely Ondau ) is a river in eastern Slovakia .

The 146.5 kilometer long river represents the second "source river" of the Bodrog , next to the Latorica , which is created at Zemplín by the confluence of the two rivers. It rises in the Lower Beskids near the municipality of Ondavka and the border with Poland. From there it takes a south-eastern course along the towns of Svidník and Stropkov and further south feeds the Ve denká Domaša reservoir . It then continues south east of the towns of Vranov nad Topľou , Sečovce and Trebišov, partially channeled to the confluence with the Latorica and from here on as the Bodrog River. In the municipality Parchovany also leads Topľa in the Ondava. The water catchment area is around 3400 km² and the flow rate is on average 22 m³ / s.
