Kuzmice (until 1927 Slovak and "Kuźnice"; Hungarian Kozma ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 1,705 (as of December 31, 2019). Administratively it belongs to the Okres Trebišov , a district of the superordinate Košický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located on the eastern slope of the Slanské vrchy , on both sides of the Roňava River , shortly after the confluence with the Terebľa . Kuzmice is 17 kilometers from Trebišov and 36 kilometers from Košice .
Administratively, the municipality is divided into parts of Dancov Potok and Kuzmice.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing as Kozma in 1270 and was probably founded by a low nobleman in the early 13th century. The agricultural town had 84 houses and 624 inhabitants in 1828.
