history

Oberamt Göppingen, territorial status 1813, with the previous rule and office boundaries
legend

As early as the 14th century, the city of Göppingen was the capital of a Württemberg bailiwick. The resulting old Württemberg office, from 1758 Oberamt, Göppingen, was added from 1806 to places that had previously belonged to the Adelberg monastery office or to the knighthood. Neighbors of the district, which was assigned to the Danube District from 1818 to 1924, were the regional offices of Schorndorf , Welzheim , Gmünd , Geislingen , Kirchheim and Eßlingen after the reorganization .

Former gentlemen

In 1813, after the regional reform was completed, the district was made up of parts that had belonged to the following rulers in 1800:

  • Kurbayern , Herrschaft Wiesensteig: shares in Ganslosen and Ursenwang.
  • Imperial city of Ulm : Rommental.
  • Reichsritterschaft
When Ritter Canton stove Swabian knights were enrolled:
    • Dürnau with Gammelshausen ( Count of Degenfeld-Schonburg ),
    • Filseck (Baron von Münch),
    • Großeislingen (about 2/3 of the place, Count von Degenfeld-Schonburg),
    • Rechberghausen (Count of Degenfeld-Schonburg),
    • Staufeneck with Salach (Count of Degenfeld-Schonburg),
    • Jebenhausen and Iltishof (Freiherr von Liebenstein).
    • The majority of Birenbach belonged to the Wäschenbeuren manor, most of Ottenbach to the Hohenrechberg manor, St. Gotthardt to the Eybach manor, individual farms in the Ottenbacher Tal to the Donzdorf, Hohenrechberg, Kleinsüßen and Ramsberg manors. In addition to Württemberg, the Hohenrechberg and Kleinsüßen manors were involved in the Krummwälden condominium .
