Joseph Christian Schliz

Joseph Christian von Schliz (born March 10, 1781 in Untergröningen , † April 15, 1861 in Heilbronn ) was the Württemberg governor and temporary city director of Stuttgart .

Life

The son of a Justice and Expedition Council studied 1802-1804 jurisprudence at the University of Altdorf and the University of Würzburg . After his studies he became a lawyer and in 1805 Hohenlohe government secretary in Bartenstein . In 1807 he came to Esslingen am Neckar as chief justice secretary and shortly afterwards to Öhringen as district actuary . In 1809 he was appointed senior magistrate at the Ingelfingen District Office , in 1811 the Ehingen District Office , 1817 the Biberach District Office and 1822 the Heilbronn District Office . In 1828 he moved to Stuttgart as city director, before he was appointed senior magistrate at the Mergentheim district office in 1831, meanwhile appointed to the senior government council . In 1846 he retired. From 1826 to 1830 he was also a member of the Württemberg state parliament as a member of the Mergentheim district .

Honors

In 1816 he was awarded the Austrian golden civil merit medal and in 1821 the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the elevation to the personal nobility. In 1821 he was made the first honorary citizen of Biberach an der Riss , and in 1823 the first honorary citizen of Heilbronn .

His son Adolf Schliz (1813–1877) became a city doctor in Heilbronn.
