The rule Emerkingen was a rule with its seat in Emerkingen , today a municipality in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . The Lords of Emerkingen were imperial ministerials in 1293 and bailiffs of the Zwiefalten monastery from 1285 to 1297 . In 1367 the rule Emerkingen was sold to the Freyberg .

After that they went to the stone for Rechtenstein over and 1445 to half of Austria , the 1732/1734 so that the stadium belehnte who acquired the other half of the 19th century.

The rule belonged to the Swabian Empire . In 1805 it came under the sovereignty of Württemberg and was subordinate to the Oberamt Ehingen . The castle in Emerkingen was mostly demolished in 1870.
