history
The former moated castle was probably built by Heinrich von Emerkingen before 1100. In the first half of the 14th century the keep was built as a residential tower by the Lords of Emerkingen . Nothing has been preserved from the moated castle. The keep received a tower clock and a bell in 1921. Today the keep serves as a bell tower and local history museum.
