The Salzmünde storage facility is a listed storage facility in the village of Salzmünde in the Salzatal unified municipality in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the warehouse is listed as a monument under registration number 094 55092 .

The old storage building is to the west of the brickworks , between this and the Saalhafen on Sportlerweg. The building was erected within three years by Brachwitz entrepreneur Carl Wentzel and put into operation in 1938. The actual building consists of three individual buildings that are connected to one another and is reminiscent of the salt storage facility in Lübeck . The 16 chambers of the building could hold 8,000 tons of grain . The gable of the building still shapes the north-western image of the place today . The building is no longer used today and is falling into disrepair.
