Nikolai Vasilyevich Waradinow ( Russian Николай Васильевич Варадинов ; born December 6 . Jul / 18th December  1817 greg. In Poltava , † July 27 jul. / 8. August  1886 greg. In Gatchina ) was a Russian jurist and Privy Councilor .

Life

Waradinow was the son of a merchant family. He graduated in the years 1838-1841 in Tartu a law degree , he with the promotion of Dr. jur. and Dr. phil. completed. He then worked as a Russian teacher at the district school in Walk and then at the aristocratic school in Arensburg . From 1845 to 1848 was an official in the office of the Governor General Riga . He then moved to the Ministry of the Interior in Saint Petersburg as the eldest head of the table , where he eventually headed the judicial department and in 1855 was promoted to State Councilor, finally to Privy Councilor. He held the post of head of the censorship department several times, was an editor of various newspapers and was a member of various commissions.

In addition, since 1850 he was a corresponding member of the Society for History and Archeology of the Baltic Sea Provinces of Russia .
