geography

location

Aidlingen is located in the Heckengäu and is traversed by the Aid stream , which originated from Aisch (Sau) from Dachtel and Irm from Gechingen.

Community structure

Today's municipality was created through the incorporation of the previously independent municipalities of Dachtel and Deufringen into Aidlingen in 1971.

The four districts of Aidlingen, Dachtel , Deufringen and Lehenweiler are identified in the main statutes of the municipality of Aidlingen . These four districts form residential districts as part of the Unechte Teilorteschahl . The village of Aidlingen and the villages of Kirchtalhof, Kühneberg, Lehenweiler , Lindenhof and Würmtalhof as well as the abandoned villages of Laiddorf (?), Himburg and Pfanneburg belong to the municipality of Aidlingen within the limits of August 31, 1971 . The village of Dachtel belongs to the former municipality of Dachtel and the village of Deufringen and the abandoned villages of Brunnhalden and Sighartstal belong to the former municipality of Deufringen.

history

Aidlingen 1681, forest inventory book by Andreas Kieser

Middle Ages and early modern times

In the district of Aidlingen, Reichenau Monastery owned property in 843 . It sold Fronhof and Kirchsatz in 1355 to the Lords of Bondorf, who in turn left both of them to the Counts of Württemberg in 1365 , who in the 14th century also acquired the portion of the Count Palatine of Tübingen. Since then, Aidlingen has belonged to the Württemberg Office of Böblingen. Servants of the Count Palatinate sat as local nobles in Aidlingen. The Nikolaikirche was built in 1470 by Aberlin Jörg as a fortified church at a commanding height. Half-timbered houses from the 17th and 18th centuries still determine the old local area. In 1709 two former guard riders of Duke Eberhard Ludwig founded Lehenweiler in the north of the Aidlinger Markung.

From the founding of the Kingdom of Württemberg to the Nazi era

During the implementation of the new administrative structure in the Kingdom of Württemberg , which had existed since 1806 , Aidlingen remained assigned to the Upper Office of Böblingen .

Around 1850, the inhabitants mostly did agriculture and also cloth-making, hand spinning and basket weaving. Five mills driven by Aid , a beer brewery and a mechanical wool spinning mill represented trade and industry. Characteristic are the classicistic former town hall from 1853 and the rich half-timbered building of the Gasthof "Adler" from 1705 on the opposite side. Today's town hall was built in 1866 as a residential and commercial building for doctors, pharmacies and teachers.

Since 1927 there has also been a deaconess mother house of the Christian Association for Women and Girls with a Bible and housekeeping school.

The administrative reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg led to membership in the Boeblingen district in 1938 .

Post-war until today

After the Second World War , Aidlingen fell into the American zone of occupation and in 1945 came to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was incorporated into the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.

In the post-war years of 1949/50 the Catholic parish built a church on the Sonnenberg. The "Ostheim" (1955) and "Kirschhalde" (1959–1960) building areas were also built in the east on the road to Böblingen, and the "Sonnenberg" building area north of the old town center was added from 1966 to 1976. In the west, the “Buchhalde” and “Gewanne” were expanded, followed by a small industrial park .

The Nikolaikirche in Aidlingen

This development made the further expansion of public facilities necessary. Both new kindergartens (Aidlingen and Lehenweiler 1970 and 1972) and schools (Buchhaldenschule 1952, Sonnenbergschule 1971) were built. 1966-1970 the remaining sewerage of the community (collective sewage treatment plant in the Würmtal) and since 1971 an expansion of the water supply (new water intake, elevated tanks and connecting pipes). Other public facilities were a morgue (1966), fire station (1968), Sonnenberghalle (1972) and Buchhalden sports hall (1980) with an expanded "Vogelherdle" sports facility (1976 to 1978)

Large-scale landscape and nature reserves ensure the preservation of the characteristic landscape of the Schlehen- and Heckengäus.

In the course of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipality of Dachtel was incorporated into Aidlingen on September 1, 1971, and Deufringens was incorporated on December 1, 1971.
