history
Until the 19th century
The first documented mention of Nufringen goes back to 1182. In the 13th and 14th centuries, the place was under the influence of the Count Palatine of Tübingen , who sold it to Württemberg in 1382 , where it was assigned to the office of Herrenberg. Due to the Thirty Years' War and the plague , the population was drastically reduced and only reached the size it had before these events in the 18th century. At the time of the Kingdom of Württemberg , Nufringen remained with the Oberamt Herrenberg . In 1879, with the opening of the Gäubahn between Stuttgart and Freudenstadt, the town was connected to the Württemberg railway network .
20th century
The administrative reform of 1938 during the Nazi era in Württemberg , which replaced the old boundaries of the higher offices with newly encompassed districts, led to the municipality becoming part of the Böblingen district . During the Second World War , around 40% of Nufringen was destroyed by an Allied bombing raid on October 8, 1943 - more than 150 buildings were lost. In 1945 the municipality became part of the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was incorporated into the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. After the war, Nufringen experienced a rapid upswing.
