Willy Eiselen

Willy Eiselen (born April 5, 1896 in Dachtel ; † May 22, 1981 in Heidelberg ) was a German entrepreneur and patron from Ulm .

Life

Willy Eiselen was born in Dachtel as the son of a village teacher. He took part in the First World War and suffered two serious wounds. He ended up being a lieutenant in the reserve. Between 1919 and 1922 he studied chemistry and mechanical engineering at the technical universities of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. He graduated with the association examination. He then undertook a commercial apprenticeship. After years of apprenticeship and traveling, he became a director in a company in Freudenstadt / Black Forest in 1926 , where he built up the production and sale of baking agents for bakeries.

In the 1930s he became a partner in the companies he ran. In 1944 the Ulm factory was completely destroyed and in 1946 it was rebuilt in Ulm as an independent company called “Nutrient Works Willy Eiselen”. In 1954 the son Hermann Eiselen joined the company as managing director and co-partner. The “Ulmer Spatz Father and Son Eiselen” company was founded.

In 1955 he founded the registered association " German Bread Museum ". In 1968 he was made an honorary senator of the Technical University of Stuttgart and in 1971 he received an honorary doctorate from the natural science faculty of the University of Hohenheim . In 1978 Willy Eiselen received the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit .

With his son he founded the "Father and Son Eiselen Foundation non-profit GmbH". Willy Eiselen died in Heidelberg in 1981.
