Recreational sports

The beginnings of the leisure sports department can be found in the first “gymnastics group for young women” from 1923. The first gymnastics department of the Aidlingen sports association was established in 1965 through athletics and gymnastics. In 1977, in addition to women's and men's gymnastics, there were also various children's groups and the first mother-child gymnastics. Today's department has around 200 members and offers an extensive course program.

Sporting successes

The club had its greatest sporting success in the 1970s with its football department. In 1974/75 and 1977/78 the footballers of SpVgg Aidlingen played twice in the 1st amateur league North Württemberg, the then highest amateur class in Baden-Württemberg and the third highest in the football league system of the DFB. At the end of both seasons, however, the team rose immediately from bottom of the table.
