The Aid is a creek in the western district of Böblingen in Baden-Wuerttemberg , which flows from the left and west into the Würm in Aidlingen only 3.5 km with its longest upper course Irm together .

geography

course

The Aid arises in the Aidlinger village Deufringen from the confluence of the significantly longer left upper reaches Sau or Irm , which flows in from the northwest, with the Aischbach coming from the west . From here it flows to the east, takes in the Gärtringer Talbach from the south in the small settlement gap between Deufringen and Aidlingen and, after it has flowed through Aidlingen almost completely in this direction, finally flows northeast next to the river bridge to the residential area on the opposite Würmhalde von left in the Würm .

In the valley of the shorter, lower catchment area and deeper source of the Aischbach, there is a so-called Aidursprung shown on maps west-southwest of the Aidlinger village of Dachtel at the inlet of the waterless left Schnepfental , a little below the damp basin in which the Aischbach itself arises. Its previously rather inconspicuous run becomes more noticeable below it.

In Aidlingen there are short tributaries in three places, the water from one of the canals used to drive the Obere Mühle .

Catchment area

The Aid drains 47.8 km² of the Heckengäus, which is divided here by its valley and the deeper cuts of the larger tributaries, to the east to the Würm in front of the Black Forest edge plates, which are almost adjacent to the west . The left source brook Sau / Irm contribute 18.2 km², the right source brook Aischbach 13.9 km² and the only and right tributary Gärtringer Talbach 11.4 km² contribute to this catchment area .

The highest point is on the western watershed on the summit of the wooded Nülle south-east of the Stammheim district of Calw at 595.1  m above sea level. NHN . Several other elevations also tower over 550  m above sea level. NHN on. The mouth is 411.5  m above sea level. NHN .

The catchment area of the Aid lies between the two rivers Nagold in the west and Würm in the east. The highest watershed in the west runs so close to the Nagold that, apart from the Stammheimer Schlittenbach on the other side of the Black Forest river, there is no side stream that comes close to the Aid. The also noticeably smaller Altbach on the other side of the northern watershed, like the Aid, strives eastward to the downward Würm near Grafenau- Dätzingen, like the Krebsbach to the upward in Ehningen , which is roughly equal in size to the Aid.

Slightly less than half of the catchment area is forested. Some dry valleys or dry upper valleys indicate karstification of the shell limestone underground.
