Ileana-Maria Ratcu

Ileana-Maria Ratcu (* 1969 in Bucharest ( Romania )) is a Romanian Germanist .

She studied German and Romanian at the Foreign Language Faculty of the University of Bucharest . Between 1994 and 2013 she worked as a university teacher at the Bucharest Institute for Archives, where she was responsible for the specialist area of ​​German language and palaeography / German manuscript studies. In 2005 she completed her doctorate with a thesis on the Bukovinian historian and archivist Teodor Bălan . Since 2013 she has been a member of the Department of German Studies at the Foreign Language Faculty at the University of Bucharest. Her main research interests are the investigation of German-language documents from Transylvania , the varieties of the German language and the technical language of history.
