Ilya Kaenzig

Ilja Kaenzig (born June 21, 1973 in Sursee ) is a Swiss football manager. Since February 2018 he has been the spokesman for the management of VfL Bochum 1848 GmbH & Co. KGaA , the outsourced commercial operations of VfL Bochum .

Life

Kaenzig, whose mother comes from Russia , studied business administration in Lausanne . From 1994 to 1998 he worked at Grasshoppers Zurich . He then became head of the youth department at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on May 1, 1998 . In December 1998 Kaenzig was promoted to coordinator of overall football and was considered a protégé of Reiner Calmund for a long time . Three years later, on July 3, 2002, he was promoted to manager.

On May 23, 2004 Kaenzig signed a contract with Hannover 96 . He officially took up the post of manager on July 1, 2004. On November 15, 2006 Hannover 96 and Kaenzig parted ways prematurely. He then worked for the Blick Group as head of sports.

On August 9, 2010, Kaenzig became the delegate of the Board of Directors of Sport & Event Holding AG, the owner of the Stade de Suisse and the BSC Young Boys football club . On October 30, 2012, he resigned from all positions as part of the restructuring of the holding company. From August 10, 2015, Kaenzig was CEO of the French second division club FC Sochaux . He left the club at the end of 2017.

On February 14, 2018, Kaenzig was appointed spokesman for the board of VfL Bochum . Since the spin-off of the economic business operations of the association into VfL Bochum 1848 GmbH & Co. KGaA , he has acted as spokesman for their management.
