Illustreret Danmarkshistorie for Folket
Illustreret Danmarkshistorie for Folket , in German about Illustrated History of Denmark for the People is the title of a series of comics published in Denmark by the illustrator and historian Claus Deleurans (1946-1996) on world history .
The series describes history, especially the history of Denmark , from the Big Bang to the end of the Viking Age in an easy-to-understand and cheerful way . Originally a continuation of the series up to the present was planned, which failed because of Deleuran's early death in 1996. The stories were initially published as a serial in the Danish daily Ekstra Bladet . Due to their great success, the stories were later published as a nine-part series in book form. The content of Deleuran's comic series is closely based on the popular scientific work of the same name by the Danish historian Kristoffer Fabricius , published from 1853 to 1855 . Deleuran's illustrations for Illustreret Danmarkshistorie for Folket are characterized by a particularly true-to-original design. He drew almost all objects shown, such as buildings, clothing, jewelry, weapons, household items and other details, true to detail, based on scientific findings and archaeological finds .
