Ilse Keydel (* 1921 ; † May 5, 2003 ) was a German foil fencer . She was a multiple German champion and won the first international medal in fencing for the Federal Republic of Germany after the Second World War. Keydel fought at TK Hannover .

At the 1953 World Championships in Brussels, Keydel took third place behind the Italian Irene Camber and the French fencer Renée Garilhe , thus winning the first international medal for the Federal Republic of Germany, which was founded in 1949. With the team she was able to win the silver medal at the World Championships in Paris in 1957 and in Philadelphia in 1958 . At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , despite the use of the German Fencing Association, it was not taken into account for further starting places for cost reasons.

In 1955 Keydel was German champion in foil singles, in 1953 , 1954 and 1957 she was second, in 1951 she took third place. With the team of TK Hannover she was German team champion in 1958 .

In 1956 she was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf as a "multiple master in foil fencing". Keydel died in 2003 at the age of 82. In 2010 she was included in the Honorary Portal of Sports in Lower Saxony. The "Ilse Keydel Tournament" is held annually in Hanover.
