The German Fencing Championships in 1951 were the first championships after the Second World War and the subsequent ban on sport fencing by the Allied Control Council . Competitions were held in the disciplines of men's swords, men's sabers and men's florets. Only foil was fought for women. The individual championships took place in Mainz in April and the team championships in Frankfurt am Main in October . The championships were organized by the German Fencing Association .
