Imad Moustapha ( Arabic عماد مصطفى, DMG ʿImād Muṣṭafā ; * 1952 in Damascus ) is a Syrian diplomat .

Life

Imad Moustapha is married to Rafif Al-Sayed, their children are Sidra and Saree. Until 1983 he studied Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Damascus . From 1983 to 1995 he was a research associate at the Scientific Study and Research Center in Damascus. Until 1992 he studied computer-integrated manufacturing at the University of Surrey . From 1995 to 1997 he directed studies at the Scientific Study and Research Center in Damascus. In 1997 he received his doctorate from the University of Surrey with a thesis A STEP-based generic mechanical model of electronic products .

From 1997 to 2000 he was General Secretary of the Arab School of Science and Technology in Damascus. From 2000 to 2003 he was dean of the computer science department at Damascus University. From 2003 to 2004 he was Chargé d'affaires in Washington, DC From March 31, 2004 to December 2011, he was ambassador there. He has been the ambassador to Beijing since March 1st, 2012 .

Imad Moustapha advised UNESCO , ALECSO and ESCWA on questions of science and technology policy. In 2003 he was co-author of the UN report on human development in the Arab world. In 2002 he wrote the report "School of the Future", which was presented at the conference of Arab education ministers in Algiers.
