Imagic was a manufacturer of computer games for the Atari 2600 , Philips G7000 and others platforms in the 1980s.
Company history
The company was founded in 1981 by former Atari programmer Rob Fulop , the author of the games Night Driver and Missile Command , among others . Imagic's successful games included Atlantis , Cosmic Ark, and Demon Attack . In the past few years that the Atari 2600 platform was sold, Imagic was one of the game companies that, along with Atari and Activision, sold most of the games for this game console on the market.
Although Imagic grew very rapidly in the early years of its existence, it was irreversibly damaged economically by the collapse of the video game industry in 1983. The company released more than 20 games in total before it was disbanded in 1986. The rights to the games by Imagic have been owned by Activision since the late 1980s . The games have since been re-released on various new platforms.
