Immacolata Glosemeyer (born September 1, 1965 in Acri , Italy as Immacolata Caravetta ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2013 .

biography

Immacolata Caravetta came to Germany in 1966 with her parents who came as guest workers . She grew up in the northern part of Wolfsburg , where she still lives today. After completing secondary school, she completed an apprenticeship as a retail saleswoman. At the wedding in 1987, she took her husband's family name. In 1991 their son was born. Since 1994 she has been involved, initially on a voluntary basis, in childcare by child minders and was a founding member of the Wolfsburg child minders association. Since 2007, the childminder's association has been a family service in Wolfsburg near the city of Wolfsburg.

politics

Immacolata Glosemeyer has been a member of the SPD since 1990 and represents her party in the Wolfsburg City Council. In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2013 , she entered the state parliament via her party's state list. She won the mandate as a direct candidate in the Lower Saxony state elections in 2017 . She is also the party leader of the SPD subdistrict of Wolfsburg and mayor of the Wolfsburg town of Nordstadt .

Political work in the SPD parliamentary group

Immacolata Glosemeyer has been the spokeswoman for youth policy within the SPD parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2013 . Since 2017, she has also been the spokesperson for consumer protection .
